For this last event of my 2000 season I decided to race on my Airborne Ti Hag — my first single speed competition. I thought as long as I was going to be low-tech I might as well do the event without a support crew. A solo, solo race on a single. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

A record 40 solo racers lined up for the running, Le Man's-style start. Among the favorites was last year's winner, Robert Stepanoff, and Dawes Wilson, the 1997 winner. Matt Ohran, a contender here every year, is also here.
