After much anticipation for this year's UCI World Cup finals in Kaprun, Austria, site of last year's World Championships, riders were greeted to persistent rain and a mud-spoiled course. In the end, the 4X event was cancelled due to excessive rain and safety concerns.

In the cross-country men's event, Filip Meirhaeghe of Belgium came out on top with a time of 2:18:32, with Thomas Frischknecht of Switzerland taking second in 2:19:16. Julien Absalon of France came a close third in 2:19:43.

In the women's event, Norway's Gunn-Rita Dahle powered her way to a first-place finish in 1:54:23, with Sabine Spitz of Germany coming second in 1:56:13. Canada's Marie-Helene Premont took the bronze in 1:56:39.

Spain's David Vazquez Lopez ruled the downhill, conquering the muddy course in 2:35.16. Greg Minnaar settled for second with a time of 2:36.50, while Austria's Nathan Rennie narrowly missed the silver with 2:36.98.

In the women's field, Marla Streb of the USA took home the gold with a time of 3:07.65, well ahead of second place finisher Sabrina Jonnier of France, who rode the course in 3:14.28. Great Britian's Fionn Griffiths took third with a time of 3:16.07.
