The Tissot-UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, now just one event from deciding its 2002 overall champions in September, hooked up with a brand new and ambitious festival this weekend in Colorado, giving mountain lovers a full weekend of hot competition.

Downhill mountain biking and adventure racing joined a multitude of other mountain events for the first time in this festival-happy town at the first annual Telluride 360° Adventure Festival, presented by Subaru. And so while the usual downhill mountain bike suspects, Chausson, Peat, Carter and Jonnier, ripped it up on fresh courses, athletes and spectators from the full spectrum were watching and participating in the biggest weekend of high-altitude events we've seen this summer.

Whether it was downhillers going 40kph or Subaru Primal Quest racers doing 2kph, the weekend provided something for everyone — a full 360 degrees of speed.

Check out our full spectrum of coverage. Our primary stories and photos are of round 4 of the Downhill and Four-Cross World Cup, but we've also got reports from the international cross-country omnium (stage) event, trail run, adventure race, bouldering and uphill scramble run. Set against the 10,000-foot elevation of Telluride's Mountain Village and extremely hot and dry conditions, this multi-tiered event made for a long (yet fast) weekend of racing.
